There are several ways to install Gentoo on a fresh PCG-C1VFK (or similar):
ide2=0x180,0x386 to the kernel on booting to allow it to see the drive after it boots into Gentoo (this is the route I took, since the department I work in owns such a beast).chroot that way (follow the alternative installation guide for Gentoo).Gentoo is particularly handy as you compile things natively, which is probably a good idea on a strange processor like the Crusoe.
I have sonypi, ACPI, the camera and memorystick working happily. I'm still looking at getting Software Suspend and bluetooth to work properly.
